Assessment tools
All the research tools of the longitudinal project are computerized and were built by the Safra research team as developmental tools. The computerization of the tools significantly reduces the need for coding, which is done automatically using computer software and saves time, resources, and reduces the use of paper. Our comprehensive battery provides a broad developmental perspective and includes linguistic, quantitative, cognitive, and socio-emotional measures as well as comprehensive and in-depth background questionnaires filled out by the parents and teachers of the children participating in the study. Beyond that, the unique developmental research tools we developed and the large sample size make it possible to produce national norms from kindergarten to the end of the elementary school in a variety of fields. Such norms are scarce in Israel today and can contribute to clinicians and researchers in identifying and treating struggling students.
