The Longitudinal Project
Tracking children’s development: From Kindergarten to Sixth Grade
The Edmond J. Safra Longitudinal Study is the first study of its kind in our country that addresses the issue of holistic child development in the context of families and schools in diverse settings and cultures. The longitudinal project began in 2019 among 2000 kindergarten children and is expected to continue until the children reach the end of sixth grade. The study is conducted in Haifa and in the Northern District of Israel in matching samples, among Hebrew- and Arabic-speaking children. The research focuses on identifying and characterizing learners and learning difficulties in different aspects. In addition, the size of the sample and the developmental aspect will allow us to produce national norms in a variety of fields that do not yet exist in Israel.
